The images coming out of the Shanghai Expo (as well as the BJ Olympics) reminded me very strongly of the 1893 Chicago Exposition. Let's hope our Chinese friends are not planning to repeat the entire 20th century but it doesn't look good so far...

I was surfing blogs re Asia since i am kinda of new comer from EU to China...I found your comments and experiences are interesting and many of them do make sense.
But one thing i don't like and wish you do consider is: why you don't open your mind and forget about your american ignorance?
If what you mean China/Asia is not the new world but a fake illusion, why don't you come back your own country and find a job?
Very educated writing but still can not get rid of fat american's small mind...pitty.
